Championship dreams remain within reach.
All four of Greene County's state qualifiers are still alive in Des Moines, the program's best collective performance in years.

Top-seeded Kale Petersen (40-0) is on to the Class 2A 132 pound semifinals after an 8-0 major decision over Clear Lake's Max Currier.
The senior has won 59 straight matches as a Ram and is on to the state semis for the third straight year.
He'll square off against fifth-seeded Nick Koch (35-3) of North Fayette Valley in tomorrow's semis.

Fellow top seed McKinley Robbins (46-0) also punched his ticket to the 2A semifinals - his fourth straight trip - thanks to a 7-4 victory over Creston's Austin Evans in the 138 pound quarterfinals.

A escape and takedown combo in the second period gave Robbins the advantage he needed after a scoreless opening frame.

The senior has now won a career-best 46 matches this season.

He'll face-off against fourth-seeded Tate Slagle of Algona (45-4) in an effort to reach his fourth state final.

Greene County sophomore Brent Dennhardt (39-6) continues to impress in his first state tournament, advancing to the 145 pound consolation fourth round after winning two matches this afternoon, in dominating fashion. He punctuated his victory with a 13-3 major decision over Charles City's Nathan Lopez.
Dennhardt will face-off against eighth-seeded Justin Keller of Albia (34-4) tomorrow afternoon.

Greene County junior Gavin Scheuermann (22-4), in his third state tournament appearance, punched his ticket into the 160 pound consolation fourth round for the first time after a pair of major decisions Thursday afternoon.
Scheuermann's three state tournament victories are a personal-best.
He'll wrestle seventh-seeded Jack Wajda of Spirit Lake Park (13-1) tomorrow afternoon.

The Class 2A session for day 3 begins at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. The consolation fourth round will be held first, followed by the semifinals and consolation fifth round.
