Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary begins its annual holiday sale
Special to the Jefferson Herald
You know the holidays are fast approaching when the Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary kicks into high gear, making sweet treats, decorating trees, wreaths and tables, manning holiday sales at the gift garden while providing opportunities for residents to give the gift of life.
The Auxiliary has filled the lobby at Greene County Medical Center with Christmas trees, festive wreaths, one-of-a-kind table decorations and more at their annual Holiday of Lights. The silent bidding event closes at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. The winning bidders can pick up and take home their new décor from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. that afternoon; from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8; or noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.
Venture into the Auxiliary gift garden shop to see the stock of seasonal decorations and gifts. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and for the holidays, special Saturday hours on Dec. 10 and 17 of noon to 4 p.m.
The popular Auxiliary Candy Sale is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 15. The sale will open at 7 a.m. and the treats will disappear fast.
And during this season of family, friends, warmth and giving, consider providing the gift of life to up to three individuals by donating blood at the Auxiliary Blood Drive Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church. LifeServe Blood Center will be scheduling appointments from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call 800-287-4903 to lock in your time today.
The Auxiliary raises funds to support the equipment, furnishing and material needs of the Medical Center’s many different departments while also offering their personal assistance throughout the facility. Each year, donations are also allocated to their annual scholarship program. Thanks to your support, the Auxiliary has presented more than $600,000 to Greene County Medical Center over the past 61 years.
