Jefferson Matters’ community appreciation night is March 28

The public is invited to join Jefferson Matters: A Main Street & Chamber Community for the third annual Community Appreciation Night event to be held Tuesday, March 28 at the Greene County High School Performing Arts Center.
Doors open at 6:30pm for hors d’oeuvres served by Ram Restaurant culinary arts students. The event begins at 7 p.m. with a dessert reception to follow.
The evening will feature some highlights from Main Street in 2022, updates on local happenings from Abby McConnell with experiencejeffersoniowa.com, Teresa Green – Career Academy Specialist and Brett Abbotts – Superintendent of Greene County Community Schools with the Greene County Career Academy, Jolene Peters with Art on the Fly and her 2022 Challenge Grant, Margaret Hamilton with the Greene County Animal Shelter, and Shirley Haupert with Greene County ARC food pantry and their new solar project.
FORCES UNDER 40
A new addition to the evening will be “Forces Under 40” – recognition of community leaders under the age of 40 that have been nominated by fellow citizens. The inaugural class will be made up of Bonnie Silbaugh, Tracy Deal, and Philip Heisterkamp.
ABOVE AND BEYOND
The finale of the night will be the announcement of the 2022 Above and Beyond the Call (ABC) award winner, presented by last year’s winner, Sid Jones. Following the announcement, a dessert reception will be held in the commons to congratulate and celebrate the new ABC Award winner.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to park in the south parking lot and enter the south doors.
