Police Report

March 23
9:58 a.m. - A caller advised of a careless driver on N. Grimmell Road, heading south. The officer located the reported vehicle at a residence on Georgia Street and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
3:24 p.m. - Tyler Smits reported his employer had been receiving emails from subjects, who he believes are trying to make him lose his employment. Smits claimed the emails are making false claims about him. An officer is investigating.
7:29 p.m. - Jeff Richardson reported a stray dog near Lincoln Way and Grimmell Road. Officers did not locate the reported animal.
8:37 p.m. - An officer arrested Vargas Hector Hernandez, 23, of Jefferson, at 605 North Chestnut Street. Hernandez had two outstanding Guthrie County arrest warrants for assault and criminal mischief.

March 24
2:08 a.m. - Sparky’s One Stop reported a male subject had been in the business for several hours. He said he was waiting for a ride. An officer spoke to the subject, who said he had nowhere else he could go. The business said he could wait for his ride to show up.
10:15 a.m. - The GCMC ER requested an officer to conduct a welfare check on a subject in the 100 block of E. Vest Street. An officer located the subject, who said she was going to the ER in Ames.
12:11 p.m. - Alexis Olson reported a stray dog in the 500 block of N. Chestnut Street. An officer spoke to the animal’s owner about the issue.
8:55 p.m. - A caller reported a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 30 heading east from Sparky’s. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

March 25
9:42 a.m. - Ashley Jones reported harassment from a Guthrie County female. An officer contacted the subject and advised them to end the unwanted contact.
1:40 p.m. - Mary Monthei reported a careless driver on 235th Street, heading towards Jefferson. Officers later located the reported vehicle at a residence and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
4:42 p.m. - Dispatch received an abandoned 911 call from the 200 block of W. State Street. Officers did not locate anyone needing assistance in the area.
6:57 p.m. - A caller reported a stray dog in the 800 Block of W. Lincoln Way. An officer returned the animal to the owner and issued Paul Tucker of Jefferson a citation for animal at large.
7:12 p.m. - A parent called and reported a juvenile male had pulled a knife on a group of juveniles at Russell Park. Officers’ investigation revealed the male juvenile had taken a knife out of his pocket and showed it to the group. The officer contacted the juvenile’s parent about the event. The knife had not been used maliciously during the event.
9:22 p.m. - An officer performed a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 500 block of N. Maple Street. The vehicle had only its parking lights activated, not the headlights. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Robin Lawrence, 61, of Jefferson for OWI, second offense and failure to use headlights when required.
9:58 p.m. - Sarah Broadbent reported hearing a possible explosion near the 500 block of S. Olive Street. Officers searched the area, but did not locate anything.

March 26
12:40 a.m. - A caller reported a pickup in the ditch on Highway 30 near Mulberry Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Eric Wayne Bellinghausen, 41 of Jefferson for OWI and failure to maintain control.
1:35 p.m. - An officer performed a traffic stop in the 1000 block of E. Lincoln Way. Jennifer Zander of Dawson was cited for operation without registration.
7:53 p.m. - A Traffic Stop in the 700 block of W. Lincoln Way resulted in Caleb Johnson of Story City being cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
9:28 p.m. - A traffic stop in the 800 block of N. Grimmell Road resulted in Matthew Naberhaus of Scranton being cited for violation of conditions of restricted license and failure to provide proof of financial liability.

March 27
1:58 a.m. - A caller said her neighbor’s TV was too loud on Grimmell Road. The officer spoke to the neighbor, who turned the noise down.
9:13 a.m. - A traffic stop at Elm Street and Head Street resulted in Sydney Vogel of Panora being cited for operation without registration.
10:14 a.m. - A traffic Stop in the 800 block of N. Elm Street resulted in Ricardo Oerez Romero of Texas being cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
10:26 a.m. - Makayla Sparr reported two stray dogs running near Highway 30 and Mulberry Street. An officer was unable to locate the animals.
11:20 a.m. - Rhonda Randleman turned in a cell phone she had located in the 100 block of W. Washington Street. The officer was able to return the phone to the owner.
5:04 p.m. - Mark Huffman reported a speeding driver on N Ave, heading south towards Jeferson. An officer located the vehicle in Jefferson and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
5:35 p.m. - Officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of N. Elm Street. A 2013 Ford F150, owned by David Trask of Jewell and operated by Teagan Trask of Jewell, was southbound in the inside lane and attempted to change to the outside lane. Trask struck a 2010 Mazda MZ3, owned and operated by Isaac Roll of Boone, who was in the outside lane. Each vehicle had a reported $5,000 in damages. Trask was cited for turning from an improper lane.
6:21 p.m. - A traffic stop in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way resulted in Victoria Siegel of Des Moines being cited for violation of conditions of restricted license and excessive speed.
         
March 28
9:53 a.m. - Maria Quintero caught a stray dog in the 800 block of W. Monroe Street. An officer placed the dog in the animal holding facility.
10:43 a.m. - Tickcha Jaimes reported the theft of her personal banking information. Unknown subjects used her personal information to open an account and credit card at Walmart and made purchases. An officer is investigating.
3:43 p.m. - Woodward- Granger Schools requested an officer to conduct a welfare check on a Jefferson couple. The officer could not reach the subjects.
8:35 p.m. - Officers were requested to assist a deputy with an arrest at 501 11th St. in Grand Junction.
9:27 p.m. - Pam Carruthers requested officers at 405 N. Grimmell Road for a cat in a tree. Officers arrived and determined the cat was 18 feet up in the tree and could not offer any assistance.
10:54 p.m. - A traffic stop at Elm Street and Clark Streets resulted in Cody Husar of Scranton being cited for driving while suspended.

2:53 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of N. Maple Street in Jefferson.
10:28 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy conducted a welfare check in the 100 block of Elizabeth Street in Grand Junction.
11:05 a.m. - Mae Pratt, 20, of Lohrville was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
1:15 p.m. - Michael Eastman, 48, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for fifth degree theft.
1:17 p.m. - Braden Gallagher, 19, of Lorhrville was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
2:12 p.m. - The Greene County sheriff investigated a Co2 alarm going off in the 1700 block of 235th Street.
3:37 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy and the Paton Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the 1600 block of 120th Street.

March 22
9:46 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted with a medical call in the 2400 block of 337th Street.
10:55 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated an attempt to pass a counterfeit bill in the 100 block of 3rd Street in Rippey.
1:05 p.m. - Nicholas Warnke, 35, of Scranton was booked into the jail for failure to pay child support.
6:56 p.m. - Carlos Sierra-Rojas, 25, of Des Moines was booked into the jail for a violation of pretrial release.
7:30 p.m. - Keegan Williams, 25, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for a violation of probation.

March 23
8:10 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated an alarm in the 1400 block of 130th Street.
3:04 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a civil dispute in the 100 block of W. Percival Street in Rippey.
3:55 p.m. - Richard Sabus, 58, of Churdan was booked into the jail for first degree theft.
5:03 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a phone scam in the 400 block of K Avenue.
5:06 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on Highway 30 near X Avenue.
9:11 p.m. - Hector Hernandez, 23, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for Guthrie County arrest warrants for fifth degree criminal mischief and two counts of assault causing bodily injury.
11:24 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy conducted a welfare check in the 100 block of Oakhill drive in Churan.

March 24
6:30 a.m. - The Greene County sheriff assisted with a medical call in the 800 block of W. South Street in Jefferson.
12:19 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted with arranging transportation for a subject that was walking in Grand Junction and heading to Eagle Grove.
1:44 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a burglary in the 1000 block of Sandoe Street in Grand Junction.
2:30 p.m. - Devin Villalobos, 20, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for violation of parole.
6:25 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted with a medical call in the 2100 block of 260th Street.
8:55 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on Highway 30 near Mulberry Avenue. The vehicle was stopped in Perry.

March 25
9:22 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a theft complaint in the 300 block of S. 12th Street in Grand Junction.
12:51 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted a motorist on P Avenue near 290th Street.
2:47 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted DHS with a welfare check in the 400 block of Madison Street in Scranton.
4:39 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a theft in the 400 block of S. 9th Street in Grand Junction.
10:30 p.m. - Christopher Lawrence, 61, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for operating while intoxicated, second offense.

March 26
12:40 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with the arrest of Eric Bellinghausen, 41, of Jefferson for operating while intoxicated.
7:18 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy assisted with a medical call in the 600 block of S Avenue.
11:50 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 235th Street near U Avenue.

March 27
2:40 a.m. - Leigh Haughton, 56, of Perry was booked into the jail for an arrest warrant out of Dallas County.
5:58 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a driving complaint on N Avenue near 250th Street.
10:26 a.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a complaint of dogs running at large near Highway 30 and Meadow Avenue.
12:10 p.m. - The Greene County sheriff and deputy assisted with a medical call in the 1100 block of Orchard Avenue.
12:33 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a controlled burn that was called in and occurred during a burn ban near V Avenue and 170th Street.
1:01 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a careless driver on Highway 30 near S Avenue.
5:04 p.m. - A sheriff’s deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on N Avenue near 170th Street.
