Berniece Larson

Berniece A. Larson, 86, of Paton,  passed away Jan. 28 at the Fort Dodge Health & Rehab.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Jan. 31, at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie, with Rev. Dan Prochaska officiating.  Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at the funeral home until service time.  Interment will be at the Dawson Township Cemetery, west of Paton.  Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.  

Berniece A. Baldwin Larson was born September 8, 1927 in Greene County.  She graduated from Paton High School, with the Class of 1945.  Following her education, Berniece worked in Jefferson for 5 years.  On January 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Robert A. Larson.  The couple farmed in Hamilton County, until moving to a farm near Paton.  Robert passed away in 1983.  Berniece was an avid gardener and loved hybrid iris and lilies.  She also enjoyed cooking, serving family gatherings, and collecting cookbooks.

Berniece is survived by her sisters, Mildred Nordeen of Fort Dodge, and Mary Bauer (John) of Spirit Lake, Idaho; her brothers, Dr. Ray Baldwin (Espie) of Victorville, Calif., and Dr. Leslie Baldwin (Sheila) of Macomb, Ill; sisters-in-law, Joyce Baldwin of Boone, and Shirlee Baldwin of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Roy and Ethel (Bauers) Baldwin; and brothers, Leonard Baldwin, and Dr. Bernard Baldwin.
