Betty Middleton
Betty L. Middleton, age 86, of Okmulgee, Okla., passed away on May 25th, at Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Betty was born on December 5th, 1928 in Minden, to Clyde and Electa (Coe) Wilcox. Betty was raised in Guthrie County and graduated from Bagley High School in 1945. She enjoyed showing sheep at local fairs as a 4H project. On Dec. 21, 1947 she married Dwight V. Middleton where they lived on a farm near Bagley. Together they raised their four children on the farm and later in Jefferson.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Easter when all her family would come to visit from across the country. She was very active in her church, First United Methodist in Okmulgee, Okla., where she served on various committees and prepared many tasty desserts…especially pies. Betty loved to care for her house, flowers, and lawn, plus playing cards with family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Bill (DeLois) of Jenks, Okla., Lynn (Cathy) of Sedalia, MO., John (Glenda) of Okmulgee, Okla.; 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother Richard Wilcox, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwight, daughter Carolyn, and Great Grandson Nolan.
Service of Remembrance was May 30, 11:00 a.m. and Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home. Words of Comfort by Rev. Charles Thompson of Greenbrier Methodist Church. Casket Bearers - Sons:
