Donna Overton

Donna Wherry Overton, 84, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

Donna Wherry Overton was born May 27, 1931 in Adaza, Iowa to Agnes and John Wherry, the second of three daughters. Donna moved from Iowa to Hollywood, CA in 1958 to pursue a career as a dental assistant. She married Richard C. Overton on September 12, 1970 at Hollywood United Methodist Church. In 1971, the couple moved to Pasadena, CA, where they remained for the duration of her life. Donna worked as a secretary for the Pasadena Unified School District from 1983 until her retirement in 1999. An active member of First United Methodist Church Pasadena, Donna is remembered for her loyalty, kindness and great sense of humor. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, her sister Virginia Akers of Bel Air, MD, two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Tod Cole of Pasadena, CA, and Kristie and Robert Gardner of Ann Arbor, MI and her five grandchildren. Donna leaves behind a legacy of an exemplary and fulfilling life.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church Pasadena on January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
