Everett Mull

Everett Lee Mull was born May 8, 1923 in Ringgold County to Walter and Rosa Mae (Waggoner) Mull. He spent most of his life in Greene County. On Aug. 20, 1965, he married Dolores.  He had a ready-made family with Dolores’s 2 daughters, Shelly and Robbi.

Everett loved his family, friends, horses and dogs. He had many friends who were like family. Everett had a host of stories for everyone, including various friends and relatives who would join him at “Possum Lodge” for sessions of stories and discussions.

A particular bright spot in his life was his grandson, Jeremy, who spent a lot of time at Grandpa and Grandma’s house growing up. Grandpa taught him how to do many things, and his pocket was always full of quarters for the pinball machine.

He also had an adopted granddaughter, Josie Coverdale, who liked to come visit and shared his love of horses.

Everett lived a very full and active life until recently. He could always be found helping someone out with some project or other, or teaching various skills such as shoeing horses and working on vehicles. After he retired he enjoyed making personalized bird houses for family and friends to match their interests, and wrought iron hearts and crosses for outside decorating.

He was a mechanic by trade and worked for many years at Pound’s Construction maintaining all their equipment and “inventing” what he couldn’t buy to make repairs.

Everett leaves behind his wife, Dolores (Pollock) Mull, two daughters, Shelly Thornton (Mike Mentzer) of Jefferson, and Robbi Heath (Jim) of Spirit Lake, grandson, Jeremy Heath of New Ulm, Minn., granddaughter, Josie Coverdale of Texas; sister, Gladys Lambert of Fort Dodge; many relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosa Mae (Waggoner) Mull, brothers, Harold Mull, Homer Mull and Arlo Mull; and sisters, Opal Anderson, Neva Matticks, and Lela Peterson.
