Jennifer Parks
Jennifer Parks, the daughter of James and Sheri (Buswell) Parks, was born July 9, 1972 at Jefferson, and left this life May 13, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She lived her short life to the age of 42 years, 10 months and 4 days.
Jennifer attended school at Paton-Churdan and graduated from the Paton-Churdan High School in 1991. After high school, she worked for several years at Frigidaire Manufacturing in Jefferson. She later attended DMACC in Boone, Iowa and took training as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
Jennifer was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan. She enjoyed music and movies and when she was younger her dad would take her and others to live concerts. While in high school, Jenny liked to draw and paint and always enjoyed her dogs. Jennifer was a “people person” and loved to be with her family and friends. After her father’s death and with to Jenny’s health issues, she made her home in Churdan.
Jennifer is survived by her mother, Sheri of Churdan, two brothers; Peter (Sarah) Parks of Bondurant and Nicklas Parks of Des Moines, two sisters; Rachel (Brent) Gantenbein of Ankeny and Amy (Raymond) Massey of Ankeny, grandmother, Betty Buswell of Jefferson and nieces and nephews: Brayden Parks, Avery Parks, Jamison Parks, Caden Gantenbein, Calia Massey and Raymond “RJ” Massey. She was preceded in death by her father, James “Pete” Parks in 2010, an infant brother, Curtis and a special aunt, Esther “Pinky” Frye.
Mass of the Christian burial was held May 19, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan, with Rev. Father Jeff Schleisman officiating. Musical selections were rendered by cantor, Greg Carey and organist, Lois Last.
Casket bearers were John Michael Brus, John Lint, Mark Potter, Brian Harmon, Joe Harmon and Mike Rooney.
