John Murphy

John Murphy, 70, of Des Moines died March 3. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. March 9, at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Interment will be at Rippey Township Cemetery, Rippey. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. March 8 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family.

John is survived by his wife Goldie Murphy of Des Moines; 3 sons:  Jerry Murphy of Indianola,, Rodney (Amy) Murphy of Boone, and Christopher (Carrie) Murphy of Clear Lake; mother-in-law:  Gladys John of Des Moines, IA; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters:  Donald Murphy of Avoca, IA; Donna Lawson of Jefferson, IA, Diana Lawson of Boone, Barb Potkonak of Jefferson, Bill  Kafer of Grand Junction,, Tony  Kafer of Jefferson, Jack Murphy of Jefferson, Julie Jones of Jefferson, Jodi Whitver of LeMars, Janice Hakseth of Hastings, Minn.; brothers-in-law:  David John of Miss., and Junior John of Boone; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends.
