Leone Robson

Leone B. Robson passed away on August 28, 2016 in Collier Lutheran Hospice, Wheatridge, Colorado, at 97 years and 8 months. She was born on January 9,1919 to Clarence and Lulu Bell Crooks in Grand Junction, Iowa. Leone was the youngest of their seven children: Ellen, Donald, Cecil, Clifford, Pauline and Irene who are all deceased.

After graduating from Grand Junction High School, she married Leonard Robson on December 5, 1938. They were married for 45 years and had two sons, Dale of Golden, Colorado, and Ivan who died at birth. They farmed outside of Rippey, Iowa; lived in Jefferson, Iowa; then moved to Broomfield, Colorado, in 1979 to be near their son and his family. Leonard passed away June 18, 1983.

Needlework, playing cards, square dancing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and volunteering were activities she loved. Cooking at Jefferson High School and the Broomfield Senior Center and assembling their Senior Newsletter were jobs she enjoyed. While in Iowa, Leone belonged to the Jefferson and Rippey United Methodist Churches as well as the Rebekah Lodge.

Her greatest joy was to be near her son’s family: Dale and Barbara Robson of Golden; grandson, Scott and his sons, Jack and Will of Denver; and granddaughter, Erin and her daughters, Ella and Gwen of Golden who will all miss her.

A family graveside memorial will be held in Grand Junction, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
