Melanie Lamb

Melanie Lamb, age 59 of Afton, died on Saturday March 25, 2023. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at Pleasant Valley Christian Church south of  Thayer, Iowa. Hannah North will officiate. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery.

Melanie Dale Lamb, daughter of Dale Clinton Lamb and Fern LaVone (Jessen) Lamb, was born 11/28/1963.

As a young girl, Melanie loved to run and throw rocks. She had her fads that came and went but the movie Annie persisted through it all. Melanie loved watching movies, coloring and she was in Special Olympics, which she enjoyed very much. Her favorite pass time was spending time with family. She was very good at sharing and teasing. She was very easy going and it was rare to see her upset. She grew up mostly in Dana, Iowa, but did live in Lorimor, IA and Cottonwood, AZ with her mom and dad before her final place of residence, at C.A.R.E in Afton, Iowa.

Melanie is survived by her mother Fern Lamb from Cottonwood, AZ; sister Linda (Dave) Seagren from Marysville, KS; sister, Joy (Dean) Chevalier from Waterloo, IA; sister Diana Johnson from Eugene, Oregon; sister Marcia (Doug) Devilbiss from Grand Junction, IA; and brother Victor Lamb from Dana, IA. She had 13 nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. It was said she was as affectionate as a grandparent with those babies!

She was preceded in death by her father Dale Lamb in (2013) and brother Roy Dean Lamb (1981).
