Taylor

Ferne Taylor, 100, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Jefferson, passed away on Jan. 6 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. Ferne moved from Jefferson to Rock Hill in April 2013.  

Ferne Gretchen Cameron was born to John  and Hazel (Hendricks) Cameron on  Dec. 23, 1913 in Scranton. One of seven sisters, she graduated from Scranton High and married Clifford Unz in 1939.  Following Clifford’s death in 1946, she married Verne Taylor in 1951 and moved to Jefferson. She is survived by her son, Richard Unz and his wife Linda of Rock Hill, SC; two grandchildren, Cameron Unz Curtis and her husband Scott and their son, Vincent of Alexandria, VA and Ryan Unz and his wife, Shannon and their two children, Gemma and Cuinn of Fernandina Beach, FL;  one sister, Gladys Brobst, of Cedar Falls, IA.   

Ferne was a long term member of the Central Christian Church in Jefferson.  

Burial will be at the Scranton Township cemetery.
