Vivian Dallavis

Vivian R. Dallavis, 100, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her residence.

Vivian was born February 8, 1916 in Greene County, IA, the daughter of Sidney and Grace Conklin Ruth.  She married Albert Dallavis on August 20, 1943 in Camp Hale, Colo.  He preceded her in death.  Vivian was a graduate of Churdan High School. She proudly served her country in the United States Army during WWII.  Later in life, Vivian attended Lincoln Land Community College for two years.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed baking, art, traveling, and flower gardening.

Vivian was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Phyllis Fredrickson; and two brothers, Gordon and Ronald Ruth.  She is survived by two sons, Allen (wife, Jan) Dallavis and James Dallavis, both of Springfield; one daughter, Diane Rausch of Utica; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense.
