GIRLS TRACK Rams take fifth at Tiger Relays held in Carroll, 4x100 team qualifies for Drake Relays

Competition was strong last week as teams tried to lock in their best times to try and qualify for the Drake Relays last week in Carroll. 

At the Tiger Relays the Greene County girls track team would finish fifth overall in the competition with 66 total points. Carroll won the meet with 143 total points. 

Daniele Madsen was able to win the shot put with a throw that totaled 33-feet-9-inches. She was able to win the meet by a throw that was over a foot and three inches longer than her closest competition. 

The Greene County 4x200 meter relay team of Olivia Shannon, Kamryn Sanders, Natalie Heupel and Katrina Huepel won the race with a time of 1:49.71. 

The high jump was a good competition for the Rams as Lila Osterson and Kaycee Pittman finished second and third. Osterson was second after clearing 4-feet-4-inches. Pittmann also cleared 4-feet-4-inches, but she was third because of the number of attempts. 

Another second place finish was turned in by the 4x400 team of Natalie and Katrina Heupel, Kaycee Pittman and Olivia Shannon who finished second with a time of 4:10.42. They were just .33 seconds away from the win. That second-place finish was a new school record for the team. 

Emma Hoyle was able to finish third in the girls discus with a throw of 105-feet-10-inches. 

Teammates Kamryn Sanders and Olivia Shannon finished fourth and fifth in the long jump event. Sanders had a best leap of 15-feet-5.75-inches. Shannon was fifth with a best jump of 15-feet-4.75-inches. 

In the sprint medley relay the Ram team of Katrina Heupel, Kamryn Sanders, Shannon and Natalie Heupel finished third with a time of 1:58.36.

Isabella Schroeder was fourth overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.46. 

Gretah Kersey finished fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:22.68.

The distance medley team of Kaycee Pittman, Kaylee Stalder, Lila Osterson and Hailey Carman finished sixth with a time of 5:14.42. 

Placing sixth in the 4x100 relay was the Ram team of Addison Gannon, Isabella Schroeder, Savannah Lansman and Kamryn Sanders who had a time of 54.83.  

Autumn Stevens was seventh in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 14:26.57.

Addison Gannon was seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.96.

Hailey Carman was eighth in the 800 meter run, finishing with a time of 3:00.21.

Rams win 4x100, sprint med, 200 meter dash at Bengal Relays held Monday

Several wins were turned in by the Greene County girls track team at the Bengal Relays earlier this week. 

One of the first wins came from Olivia Shannon in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.83. That was a season best time for her. Shannon also had a personal record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.01. She finished second in that race. Kamryn Sanders would go on to finish sixth. 

Natalie Heupel was able to win the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.52. Katrina Heupel was second with a time of 1:02.47. Both set personal records. 

The 4x100 team of Olivia Shannon, Kamryn Sanders, Natalie Huepel and Katrina Heupel were able to win the race with a time of 51.95. 

A season best time of 1:55.04 was turned in by the sprint medley team of Katrina Heupel, Bella Schroeder, Olivia Shannon and Natalie Heupel with a time of 1:55.04. 

Emma Hoyle led the discus throwers with a second-place throw of 101-feet-4-inches. Dani Madsen was eighth with a throw of 89-feet-4-inches. Emma Ewalt was ninth with a throw of 89-feet-2-inches. 

Kaycee Pittman was third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:36.39. 

In the 4x200 meter relay the team of Kamryn Sanders, Natalie Heupel, Katrina Huepel and Bella Schroeder placed fourth with a time of 1:57.25. 

the shuttle hurdle relay tam of Bella Schroeder, Nala Losee, Gretah Kersey and Veronica van der Meer finished fourth with a time of 1:20.4.

Savannah Lansman was able to finish fourth in the long jump with a best leap of 13-feet-9.5-inches. 

Dani Madsen was fourth in the shot put with a best throw of 33-feet-7.25-inches. Emma Hoyle was fifth with a throw of 31-feet-7-inches. 

In the 4x400 relay the team of Sanders, Gretah Kersey, Savannah Lansman and Bella Schroeder placed fifth with a time of 4:44.36. 

The distance medley team of Savannah Lansman, Kaylee Stalder, Lila Osterson and Hailey Carman finished fifth in the race with a time of 5:08.23. 

Gretah Kersey was fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.69 to set a personal record. Teammate Veroncia van der Meer also had a personal record with a time of 20.27. 

In the 1,500 meter run Autumn Stevens was seventh with a time of 6:34.24. Teammate Ava Jablonski was eighth with a time of 7:02.54.
