Nelsen named to second team All-State

The Sports Spotlight recently released its 2015 Iowa High School All-State Baseball teams for all four classes. Greene County senior pitcher Riah Nelsen was named to the Class 3A second team for his efforts on the mound this season. All-State teams were selected based on regular season performances only.

In nine starts for the Rams, Nelsen wrapped up his 2015 campaign with a impressive 7-2 record on the hill. He totaled 75 strikeouts, walked 26 batters and finished with an ERA of just 1.28 in 49 1/3 innings pitched. The recent graduate tallied two no-hitters this season with shutout victories over PCM and North Polk.
