Greene County’s boys track team placed fourth out of 13 teams on a cold and windy night in Winterset on April 3. Carlisle dominated the meet, winning nine events and placing second in four more. The Wildcats topped the the runner up team Earlham by almost 100 points. Scores of the top five teams were: Carlisle 160, Earlham 67, Winterset 61, Greene County 46, and Norwalk 44. Daric Whipple captured the Rams only first place finish in the 400 hurdles, but the team earned points in nine other events by placing second through sixth. The north wind was brisk, especially on the backstretch, where it blew right in the runners’ faces the entire distance. Times on races other than those run solely on the straightaway in front of the bleachers were affected by the breezy conditions.
