Rockets split pair

The Paton-Churdan varsity volleyball squad defeated Eagle Grove 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 20-25, 25-16) at home last Thursday and fell to CAM, Anita 1-3 (14-25, 25-21, 19-25, 19-25) Tuesday night on the road. With the split, the Rockets are now 5-5 overall this season.
Against the Eagles, Paton-Churdan was led by Sydney Koch, who tallied 15 kills, 19 digs and two blocks. Jenna Beyers followed with 10 kills, seven digs and two block. Other stat leaders included Carleigh Paup with four kills, 15 digs and 16 assists, Megan Carey with four kills, 11 digs and one assist, Grace Geisler with four kills, seven digs and one assist and Mariah Tasler with five digs and 14 assists. As a team, the Rockets were 83 for 95 (87 percent) from the service line. They racked up 12 ace serves.
Against the Cougars, Paton-Churdan was led by Koch, who recorded 20 kills, 24 digs, three assists and one block. Carey followed with six kills, 11 digs and one assist. Other stat leaders included Paup with five kills, 13 digs, 11 assists and one block, Geisler with four kills, 11 digs, two assists and two blocks, Beyers with two kills, eight digs, two assists and three blocks and Tasler with 14 assists and two digs. As a team, the Rockets were 58 for 77 (75 percent) from the service line. They tallied eight ace serves.
Paton-Churdan will host Boyer Valley on Tuesday.
