One of Greene County’s top hitters is headed to the next level.

Ram shortstop Bryce Stalder announced his commitment to Grand View University late last week. The senior led the Rams in batting last summer with a .435 average, sky-rocketing up the charts over the final month of the season, which placed him sixth in the Heart of Iowa Conference. He also led Greene County with 30 total hits while his team-best 11 doubles were fourth-most in the league.
Stalder scored 22 times to go with a .567 slugging percentage and just 10 strikeouts in 69 at-bats. He committed just five errors as a shortstop, leading to a fielding percentage of .932.

The then junior was one of Greene County’s top pitchers as well over the summer. He struck out the seventh-most batters in the HOIC with 50 strikeouts to go with three wins and a 3.24 ERA.
Stalder produced quite the stat line over the last month of the season, bumping his average from just a shade under .400 to .435.

Stalder has tallied 68 hits in three seasons in addition to 35 RBI. He earned second team, all-Heart of Iowa Conference honors following his successful summer campaign.
Grand View University is an NAIA school located in Des Moines. The Vikings were 13-27 during the 2021 season, anchored by a 6-10 record at home.
